Setting Up Your Guitar Intonation

Setting Up Your Guitar Intonation
OK – So you buy a guitar and it needs a quick set-up. Before you dump
your dough at a repair shop … here’s what I would do :
1) If your guitar came w/ some allen keys – go get them. If not, ask your
dad or your friend. If they don’t have them, don’t drop more than a
few bucks for a standard and metric set at your local hardware store.

2) Loosen the locking nuts at the top (for those guitars equipmed w/ FR
style trems that have locking nuts).

3) Set all of the fine tuners (on the trem) right in the middle.

4) Tune your guitar in the order to the right … (assuming 440).

5) Stretch your strings.

6) Tune again until in tune. (Then repeat 5 & 6 until your guitar stays
in tune after a few stretches.)

7) Check the tilt of the trem. If it’s flush, perfect. Move onto step 8.
If NOT flush, adjust w/ the screws on the back (tightening the screws
will pull it back, loosening the screws will release it forward a bit).
Then tune again. This may take a few tries, but you want your trem flush
with the body.

Adjust the intonation.

9) Lock the locking nuts

10) Adjust the action

And, like most great amps that go to 11 –

Step 11 is : ENJOY YOUR GUITAR !!! You just saved yourself about $50 – $75
on a quick set-up!

Guitar Repairing- Fixing Your Guitar (Serious Truss Rod Adjustment)

Many Guitars have it's own original tone, Own style of body. It dosen't matter how it is played.
Guitars and many instruments has it's own beautiful quality tone, but talking about good Guitar quality and good tone, Intonition, Neck, Bridges, guitar buzz and Srting Setup is important.

Setting Neck Fixing Truss Rod

It is important to know how to Setup the Neck On Guitar. It is highly recommended to build it's straighten position, fixing fatal errors on neck etc. Setting up Neck is the basic lesson for guitar players.

First and most important thing to consider is to know your guitar is good and there's probably isn't any problem. If you're hearing maximum buzzing on your guitar then it's too hard to play.
As On Video,Previewed Below..
The Truss Rod Type As Mentioned Below
Most of the guitar has it's metallica rod called "Truss Rod". This allows the curvature of the guitar, which is very important to changing it's string gauge, or when temperature or the keeping position of the guitar.

Checking Your Neck Position
All the things like bridge, string gauge, and it's fret should be perfectly made.
As shown in this image, it is perfectly adjusted, see there is the gap between the string and the fret. This is well adjusted truss rod to it's string gauge.
Now, while you are holding these two frets, you should check the gap between the string and top of 7th fret hold it with your finger, see the adjustment of it. If your neck is sliding downwards then you should go back to your truss rod to fix it. To fix the truss rod you should have your Alan Key.
Since, the neck position is little downward position you should twist your truss rod with Alan key. Normally, all the guitar get straighten while twisting the truss rod. Keep on checking the neck as mentioned above .
